Welcome

M. C. T. S. I.

The Michigan Construction Trades Safety Institute (MCTSI) was organized in 1997 by Labor-Management Representatives from the Laborers, Carpenters and Operating Engineers.  These Michigan building trades believed that First Aid/CPR training not only made good safety sense, but it also further promoted the well trained organized building trades in Michigan.  Today, over 50 groups participate in the program and over 5,000 people are trained annually.

MCTSI offers two types of FA/CPR/AED training:

FA (first aid), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), AED (automated external defibrillator )

1.  " Initial" - this is a 6-hr. class for those who do not have a current FA/CPR/AED card or have allowed their certification to expire.

2.  " Refresher" - this is a 2-hr. recertification class for current card holders whose validation period has not yet expired.  In order to take a refresher class, you must have originally taken an initial class.

Refresher classes are mandatory to maintain validity.  If you do not attend an annual refresher class, you will be required to repeat the initial (6-hr.) training.

All certifications are good for one year.
